Rain Ang – Piano Lessons in Claremont

With piano as my principal instrument, I have been acquiring musical skills since I was 4 years old. I was part of the military band in my high school and performed as a clarinet and saxophone soloist, participating in overseas recital like at Hong Kong Disneyland. Whilst bringing fun, techniques and musical knowledge to my students (occasional home-baked sweet treats involved), I have worked as a Flight Attendant with Singapore Airlines, an Interior Architect and am currently furthering my studies, pursuing my passion in French Language and Culture as well as History of Art.

In my spare time, you can find me swimming, paddling, exploring nature, cooking and baking, playing and learning various musical instruments. I endeavour to pick up the guitar and my next adventure would be to visit Africa and Tasmania! I enjoy watching documentaries, reading biographies and discovering wartime histories.

I had the pleasure of teaching a wide range of students ageing from 6 months old−locomotor skills for babies with their parent by incorporating musical rhythms and beats−through to adults who had no prior musical mastery.
Modern technology can barely replace the human aspects of education. Therefore, I seek personable rapport with both students and parents through their musical journey by a manner of compassion and patience. My favourite and most memorable premier exposure to music would be watching the movie The Sound of Music. Millennials have got to recognise the von Trapp family, the picturesque scenes of Salzburg and sing along to the universal song!
